“I think people just enjoy eating at Morris East.” Sure, Jennie Dobbs agrees that the pizza itself is bragworthy, but she’s quick to chalk her second Best of Halifax win up to the entire experience of dining at her restaurant. She’s had a busy year—which included opening a third location of Morris East on Quinpool Road—but that doesn’t mean her squad doesn’t constantly work on making the pies even better, crediting the annual the International Pizza Expo in Vegas for always re-energzing and inspiring. “I’m very fortunate that a lot of the employees have been with me for a while,” says Dobbs of her recipe for success, “so the leadership team has been together for a really long time.”
